Zealand Falls Hut Tour

Enjoy 3 days of great backcountry ski touring, wonderful views of the Zealand Notch, and a comfortable hut for two nights.
Day One: We’ll ski 6.2 miles on rolling trails into AMC’s Zealand Falls Hut, where we’ll enjoy hot drinks and the beautiful view from the front porch. There are plenty of short hikes and ski tours in the area if you’re ready for more.
Day two:  We’ll have several day-long tours to choose from including skiing through Zealand Notch past the spectacular Whitewall Mountain to Thoreau Falls and and Shoal Pond, 5-7 miles round trip.
We also have the possibility of hiking Mt. Hale, Mt. Tom, and Mt. Field, all 4000’ peaks.
Day three: we’ll enjoy the rolling, but generally downhill ski back to the car.
Lodging, Cooking Notes:
Zealand Falls Hut has a full kitchen where we’ll cook our own meals. The dining and cooking areas are heated by a wood stove during the evening, but bunkrooms for sleeping are unheated.  Drinking water comes from a hand-pump well nearby the hut.
Prerequisite: Skiers should be comfortable skiing intermediate cross-country terrain with a moderate sized backpack, including winter sleeping bag and winter clothing.
We Provide: Lodging at hut, dinner, breakfast for overnight. 
You provide:  Double-camber backcountry touring skis and boots, clothing appropriate for skiing, sleeping bag, lunch, pack, etc. Equipment is available for rent from EMS
